The Minister of Mining, Aurora Williams, met with Weining Song, Vice Mayor of Yantai, located in Shangdong Province in China, to find ways of collaboration between the two countries in mining issues. This port city has a large mining industry doomed mainly gold and coal.
They also have a high-tech industry for the development of machinery and spare parts for mining trucks.
Minister Williams, on occasion, presented the scenario that Chile has the great mining country and the challenges it currently has: “There are significant challenges in our industry where there may be opportunities for collaboration in the production of energy, management of environmental liabilities, we believe that technology developed in China could address these issues”.
She also emphasized providers as a forum for introducing new opportunities: “We have future projects exceeding US $ 100 billion and this development must be accompanied engineering and suppliers within 10 years”.
Song, for his part, expressed his full support on behalf of the government of Yantai to cooperate with Chile in all kinds of areas, both in the energy field and the technology to develop environmental liabilities.
“We are keen to move forward and deepen the relationship between the two countries, to develop a project based on the relationship that Chile and China have in Apec,” said Vice Mayor of Yantai.
