In his recent visit to the Region of Bío Bío the Minister of Mining, Aurora Williams, highlighted the work done by Minera BioLantanidos stating that it is “a spectacular project”.

Last Friday the head of the Ministry of Mining, Aurora Williams, referred to BioLantanidos Project in an interview with Diario El Sur , emphasizing the importance of an initiative of this nature.

“It’s a great project! (…) Any new mining project is always interesting. Our country is a mining country and everything that can enrich and diversify production will be spectacular for Chile”, said the secretary of State.

In parallel, the authorities said they have their eyes on the initiative and will closely monitor their development, “we are following it with much attention and hope that effectively becomes a mining project and contribuites to productivity and employment, which is what we are interested in”, she said.

Meanwhile Arturo Albornoz, Project Manager of Minera BioLantanidos, said that “We want to be a company that develops and sells technology, which will allow the region to become a center of innovation of the highest level (…) The idea is to have 8 plants working in parallel in the region to produce simultaneously 2000-2500 tonnes / year”.

It is noteworthy that BioLantanidos is a mining project born in the Bío Bío and currently based in the commune of Penco, which is focused on the exploration and extraction of so-called “Rare Earths”, a group of 17 highly required minerals that are used in technology products.

This is a unique project in Chile, being Minera BioLantanidos the first national and South American company devoted entirely to the Lanthanides business.
